Kingwood Church of Christ Child Protection Policy
Kingwood Church of Christ has implemented a Child Protection Policy that details the screening procedures for all volunteers. The Child Protection Policy gives guidelines for all classroom teachers and supervisors at special events. Every volunteer should familiarize themselves with the Child Protection Policy and complete the steps listed below to become an approved volunteer serving in our children and youth ministry.

Volunteers wishing to waive the six month waiting period should have at least one elder, minister or ministry leader from the former congregation complete both sections of the reference check form.

Step Four - Complete the On-line Training Course
All volunteer workers will be required to complete an on-line training course. This Child Sexual Abuse Awareness course is approved by the State of Texas and helps to protect children from sexual predators as well as the staff and volunteers from false accusations. The volunteer will receive the course information to the email address provided on their application. The course takes approximately one hour to complete.
Step Five - Volunteer Approval and Ministry Training
Once the screening process is complete, the volunteer will receive notification of their status. The volunteer will also be asked to attend a ministry area training detailing specific guidelines for the age group that they will be serving.
